Job Description

**C2C / H1B NOT ELIGIBLE**

Summary:

At Labs Research, our goal is to explore, innovate, and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Signal Processing Research Scientist to join the Hardware team. Our team create devices that drive input and interaction in our AR and VR devices. A successful candidate would be an expert in Bio signal processing and has experience working in the HW Technology development space. Expertise understanding signal stability and variation decomposition in multi-modal data is also highly appreciated for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply signal processing and statistical tools to derive KPIs that drive HW design and assessment.
  • Collect, analyze, and manage complex multimodal physiological datasets.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biostatistics, Biophysics, Neuroscience, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with signal processing, filtering, information theory, algorithm development, and physics-based modeling.
  • Experience with sensor failure analysis using proper study design and statistical analysis (ANOVA, variant decomposition, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience collecting and analyzing datasets with humans in the loop, which include but are not limited to raw Biosensing data (IMU, PPG, ECG, EMG, etc.). Understanding of HW and Algorithm failure and root cause analysis, and comfort using the appropriate tools is appreciated.
  • Experience with modern statistical programming languages, e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, PyTorch.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the domain of (bio)-signal processing, statistics, analysis, and control theory.
  • Experience applying advanced statistical analysis to drive real world problems (especially HW development).
  • Strong communication and personal skills.
  • Experience with signal processing of raw sensor data in the context of HW development for wearables is very important for this role.
