This role will be primarily focused on deploying Sandbox VR's IT infrastructure to new locations and will involve working closely with the IT and Procurement teams. This means carrying out the vision of the Sandbox VR IT team to successfully open a new location. Duties include being responsible for the receiving and accountability of all IT equipment as it arrives to new locations, building all in-store IT infrastructure, including server cabinets and gear walls, as well as the patching of network switches.

This role will also be required to perform T1 help desk duties, including being an escalation point for IT issues, and handling IT task and ticket escalations. As we scale, you will assist with larger projects including the shaping of Sandbox VR's IT infrastructure, store on-boarding tasks, and other tasks as assigned to contribute to the overall success of IT and Sandbox VR reliability. You will be the go-to resource for in-store IT deployment, and the first line of defense for IT issues in the field.


What You'll Do:

  • Receive and account for all equipment as it arrives onsite
  • Build and install all in-store IT infrastructure including server cabinets, gear walls, access points, and other necessary components for a complete IT deployment
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure equipment onsite reflects parts list
  • Ensuring a smooth hand-over from IT deployment to store operations
  • Assist in the remediation of all location hardware
  • Assist in the configuration and testing of MDM
  • Monitor and respond quickly to incoming requests related to IT equipment issues
  • Create and update technical documentation that is easy to digest, develop processes, and collaborate to hand off said processes to peers/stakeholders
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Responsible for any hardware/equipment upgrades for existing locations
  • Understand Data Low Voltage installation and ensure all installs are successful
  • Dispatch techs and provide remote support to complete repairs/installs
  • Responsible for PCs, Servers, and related equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, etc.)
  • Assist with onboarding of new users
  • Work with warehouse technicians for successful predeployment of all equipment
  • Keep inventory of all store equipment, software, and license users
  • Install, configure, and upgrade store PC software
  • Travel as needed, can be up to 70% of the time

  • Proven and varied IT deployment experience
  • Capacity to use discretion when examining installation instructions
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to seek clarification when presented with ambiguous requests
  • Ability to instruct others on how to carry out deployment tasks
  • Resourcefulness and quick-thinking nature to troubleshoot new technical issues as they arise
  • Ability to deploy, configure, and support operating systems on desktop and mobile
  • Understanding and appreciation for information security within systems and user devices
