We are seeking a Technical Operations Analyst on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role will join the Interaction Research Group. They focus on solving the XR interaction problem, specifically how humans can interact with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). they work within a matrixed organization where research groups create disruptive technology through original research. The work of these research groups is brought together in initiatives that act as proofs-of-concept that in turn identify more opportunities for research. Their initiatives include a haptic glove and a haptic wristband. Key areas of research include hand tracking, microfluidics, haptic rendering, materials science and functional textiles, AR interfaces using real-world context, goal inference and predictive AI, human-computer interfaces, systems software research, sensing and tracking, adaptive interactions, gesture learning, AI for AR and AI for physics, contactless sensing, machine co-learning, and new methods of manufacturing for soft, all-day-wearable systems. This role is 100% remote to these locations: Baltimore, MD, Boston, MA, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA, and the State of WA.


What You'll Do


  • Review, document, and organize large amounts of research data from a wide variety of sources
  • Maintain data sources and research materials for further learning
  • Draft and review materials for standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
  • Drive the development of new communication policies and best practices based on your own research of the problem space
  • Test programs, databases, and websites - correct errors and make necessary modifications
  • Modify existing databases/websites/database management systems
  • Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations
  • Create and manage tasks, surveys, automated forms, dynamic email groups, etc. across a variety of tools and systems
  • Create and coordinate all website updates and page requests in conjunction with the comms team
  • Collaborate with the comms teams to improve user experience


Must-Haves


  • 3+ years of experience in mapping/driving business process efficiencies
  • 3+ years of experience in building/developing websites including writing content for reports and website postings
  • 3+ years of experience in internal communications experience
  • Knowledge of database management software
  • Knowledge of website development
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Excel and spreadsheets
  • Ability to interpret, analyze and evaluate given information relative to research, then develop and drive solutions
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with ambiguity
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Experience utilizing search engines, particularly academic-focused is a plus
  • Proficiency with charting software such as Lucidchart and Mural is a plus


Education


  • Bachelor's Degree in Communication or Business or equivalent training preferred


Hours & Location:


  • M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be 100% remote.
