The Opportunity

Join the Digital Innovation team and apply your curiosity with emerging technology, improving user experience and agile methodology skills to create shared value. Explore new digital concepts and different applications of technologies to embrace a digital future across our business. Recent initiatives have included: AR/VR, Chatbot, Path to Paperless (digital process transformation) and user experience assessments on custom apps.

This role is a full-time position reporting to the Manager, Digital Innovation in Information Technology (IT). Enjoy flexible hybrid working arrangements with regular weekly time in the office at the Meadowvale campus located in Mississauga, ON

Snapshot Of a Day-in-the-Life
  • Manage communications plans to foster an innovate culture, producing a mix of articles, webinars and podcasts
  • Prepare demonstrations, and co-ordinate proof of concepts (POC) to evaluate the value and viability to scale new digital solutions
  • Assess new and upcoming technologies, summarize research findings in white papers
  • Conduct user-centered research through interviews, observations, surveys, etc.
  • Support project agile methodology execution
  • Produce supporting documentation such as user stories, process/journey maps, mockups or wireframes to convey business requirements and functionality
  • Prepare test cases and facilitate user acceptance and performance testing
  • Monitor adoption and sustained benefits of the new digital tools, adjusting change management as required
  • Mentor co-op student team members on their term assignments
  • Administer Brightidea, the enterprise idea management platform, configuring campaigns to crowdsource submissions
  • Collaborate with innovation ecosystem partners such as academia or other non-profits on special assignments
What You’ll Bring
  • Interests in emerging technology and innovation subjects which progress user experience
  • Driven self-starter, strong interpersonal skills, and collaborative nature
  • Strong project management skills, competency with applying agile methodology and general change management principles beneficial
  • Strong empathy, able to relate to a variety of stakeholders from frontline workers to leadership audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, video editing a bonus – unbiased, can craft and deliver illustrative storytelling presentations and relatable to a non-tech audience.
  • Understanding of UX design principles good to have
  • Solid business acumen with an understanding of technology lifecycle, total cost of ownership (TCO) and business case development
  • Experienced with Microsoft 365 productivity and collaboration tools, e.g. Teams, Office/PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, etc.
  • 1-3 years professional work experience in technology related field
  • Post-secondary degree in computer technology, user experience, business management or other relevant programs or experiences
