Nokia Standards pioneers technology by developing and bringing innovative concepts to industry and standards organizations. It works within the ecosystems to ensure an inventor-friendly industry environment favorable to Nokia’s business success. This team drives Nokia’s intellectual property rights portfolio and standards initiatives.
What You Will Learn And Contribute To
You will be part of a high-performance team driving for continuous improvement and world-class systems research execution. Nokia Standards assist our business groups within Nokia to create and drive global standards.
As part of the team, you will:
- Drive architecture and radio solutions for XR and mixed reality.
- Develop concepts/solutions backing our standards contributions e.g. in 3GPP.
- Align team deliverables with internal stakeholders in terms of content and based on resource availability (in particular with Standardization Group including Program Management, IPR Management, and Product Management)
- Ensure operational participation in e.g. 3GPP for the related research to drive Nokia research into standardization
- Contribute to fostering the external ecosystem, e.g., through PoC and operational participation in groups like Metaverse Standard Forum (MSF)
- Develop high-quality IPRs and strengthen the Nokia IPR portfolio
- Work closely with other Business Groups and other teams to develop concepts and activities
Your Skills And Experience
You have:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required (preferably from the field of telecommunications but also other fields like electronics, computer science, mathematics, or physics)
- A minimum of 10+ years of relevant leadership experience.
- System background in wireless technologies e.g. 5G/5G-Adv. or LTE is a prerequisite
- Knowledge of mobile networks solution & product portfolio and wireless business strategy is required
- Experienced with either projects or line management
- Familiarity with the area of cellular devices is a prerequisite
- Ability to translate complex technical research into executive-level presentations
It would be nice if you also had the following:
- Expertise in the field of XR/MR/VR and related research and standardization engagements will be a plus
- Experience in 3GPP standardization and especially RAN2, SA2, SA4 will be a plus
- Understanding XR/Metaverse applications as well as impacts on devices (e.g. SLAM) and network (e.g. offloading, rendering, QoS) will be a plus
