Part-time Research Assistant I/II in the Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit (MEHU), School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 519457) (to commence as soon as possible for a period of 6 months)


Applicants should possess a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in creative media, filmmaking, videography or related disciplines with experience in filming with a 360° camera (Insta360 Pro 2) and editing 360° footage in Adobe Premiere Pro. They should have an appreciation for artistic perspectives, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to solve problems and work independently. Fluency in English is essential. Cantonese is an advantage but not required.


As a member of a dynamic team, the appointee will be responsible for Virtual Reality (VR) filming of around 6 shoots on Lantau Island and Mong Kok, editing, post production, and developing VR resources for an ethnographic health humanities nature project with the aim of producing an ethnographic VR narrative/experience of nature meditation and human-environment well-being on Lantau Island. The production will explore natural environments as places of healing, and VR as a controversial means of immersing into the sensory comfort of mountains, animals, nature and the erratic, intense, and energetic sensorium of the city. Filming and editing will be directed by the Principle Investigator in collaboration with the Research Assistant.
