Groove Jones, a world-renowned and award-winning studio specializing in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Interactive Entertainment technologies, is currently seeking highly technical, creative, curious, and mission-focused Interns. This is a unique opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in the exciting field of virtual and augmented reality. You will work with our experienced development team to create innovative and engaging XR solutions for our clients.

UI Designer: (Handshake ID Job #7507451 / SCAD ID 3270336)
This person loves to illustrate, create style frames, work on UI design or web design – They love building out the look and feel of projects. They enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where they will have to quickly iterate on their designs – they are not afraid to jump in and get their hands dirty. They will work with our lead UI UX designer the majority of the time to shadow, complete small tasks and overall learn about the design pipeline. The intern will also work cross functionally with other artists on R&D projects as well assist the team where ever needed. Generating low to high fidelity wireframes is a big part of our pipeline. Working at Groove Jones as a designer means being on top of the latest design trends for web and mobile and knowing how to best execute in our design system. They should be highly organized with a strong attention to detail, and an insatiable appetite to research, learn and test their knowledge and skills to help build things that haven’t been done before. Strong communication skills and ability to receive constructive feedback is necessary.
Local to the Dallas, TX area required.
Qualifications:
-Must be working toward a degree in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Web Design, or Related Field
- Prefer candidates with UI UX experience
Passionate about AR & VR
-Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma
-3D design software is a plus
-Web/mobile design experience a plus
3D Motion Designer (Handshake ID: #7507468 / SCAD ID: 3270337)
They love animation and motion graphics. They are excited to learn how to tell stories in AR and VR. The intern will primarily report to our Associate Creative Director for mentorship and guidance throughout the program. They will also have the opportunity to work cross functionally in the design department, collaborating with different disciplines of artists to help create video marketing projects and assist the team where ever needed. As a motion designer for Groove Jones animating app prototypes, and mocking up user experiences for AR/VR will be required. Additionally, our experiences always require animated ui elements in various forms to hand to Development. They should be highly organized with a strong attention to detail, and an insatiable appetite to research, learn and test their knowledge and skills to build things that haven’t been done before. Strong communication skills and ability to receive constructive feedback is necessary.
Local to the Dallas, TX area required.
Qualifications:
-Design background
-Must be working toward a degree in Fine Art, Animation, Television/Film, or Related Field
-Passionate about AR & VR
-Experienced with a After Effects
-Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop experience
-3D Software experience- Blender or Cinema4D
