JOB SUMMARY:

Clemson University's College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences is looking for a Virtual Reality Developer to fullfill the following duties:
  • The Virtual Reality Developer will work closely with the VR team and subject matter experts to create multi-disciplinary virtual simulations in the educational domain.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

50% - Essential - Design and develop VR content with rapid prototyping. Design and develop Virtual Reality and Augmented reality content. Responsible for ensuring the quality of the final software. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to define and build prototypes and content in Unity 3D and proprietary VR world- building tools. Utilize industry software tools, desktop VR applications, code management to achieve objectives.

20% - Essential - Use strong communication, creative thinking, and problem solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Work with multi-stakeholder teams to accomplish objectives. Adapt to new objectives and requirements as required.

20% - Essential - Use creative thinking and problem solving skills to implement best practices to inform the design of the VR/AR content. Perform research current best practice.

10% - Essential - Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science

Work Experience - Proficiency with industry software tools and pipelines (Unity3D, Blender); C# proficiency; Understanding of browser-based Desktop VR applications (WebGL); 2+ Years of experience in VR development;

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree - Computer Science

Work Experience - Advanced knowledge of simulation optimization; Understanding of pedagogical principles in VR; Gamification of educational concepts; Strong research skills; Familiarity with HMDs (Oculus, HTC Vive); Experience in VR development
