Usability Researcher

Employer

Job Description

Steyer Content is a full-service content agency that uses world-class writing, video, code, and design to create transformative experiences that build trust and grow revenue for our clients. We plan, create, and optimize business content that works for today.

We are looking for a passionate user researcher to join one of our large Redmond-based technology clients' AR and VR team. In this role as a research specialist, you will design and carry out studies to understand and quantify the user experience addressing critical vision and comfort issues. The specialist reports actionable findings and usability metrics that the augmented and virtual reality teams can use to improve their product.

If you are the right fit, you are adept at working through ambiguity to establish structure where it is needed, while also understanding how to zoom out to drive long-term design strategy. To get there, you know how to ask the right questions to identify potential strengths and weaknesses of the user experience.

This is a full-time contract role, through March 2023, that can be done remotely. We'll only be able to respond to applicants who meet the basic qualifications for this role. We offer a strong benefits package for full-time employees, including insurance coverage, paid time off, sick leave, wellness days, and access to ongoing learning resources: https://www.steyer.net/benefits/ for more information about eligibility and offerings.

Required:

  • 1 year of experience in AR/VR
  • 1-2 years of experience in usability testing
  • Confidence to pivot to different mixed-method research approaches as needed to better understand user needs and how to better educate them about technology products
  • Familiarity with interpreting data, analysis, and presenting research findings to key stakeholders

Pay rate range, depending on experience level: $40- $50hr. W2.
