About this position:

Eridan is currently building out our Systems Engineering team. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be at the center of a silicon design group responsible for RF/PHY algorithm design, modeling, and simulations. You will help implement system models to evaluate and investigate wireless communications systems, RF/circuits impairments and overall system performance. You will collaborate across teams for product definitions, system architecture and feasibility analysis.

A successful Senior Systems Engineer at Eridan will have strong technical and analytical skills and be comfortable working and solving problems independently as well as guiding others. We look for engineers with persistence, curiosity, and good communication skills.

The Systems Engineering team spans the following areas with a systems integration focus:

• Development and analysis of system architecture, inclusive of software and hardware with application-oriented value analysis
• Modeling and simulation of the system from the low PHY to the RF to the channel
• Derive requirements, set design targets based on wireless standards & 5G ecosystem
• Steer product design/roadmaps and influence systems performance decisions.
• Assess and track product system integration risks.
• Test, Validation & Failure analysis

The ideal candidate to join the Systems Engineering team will be a strong contributor in at least one of the above areas and comfortable working across all of them.

Qualities of a Successful Candidate:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree
• 5-10+ years of previous work experience in a similar role in wireless or a related industry
• Experience with 4G, 5G, ORAN, or wireless systems design and implementation
• Specific skill sets appropriate for depth of expertise in one or more of the following focus areas:
• Deep understanding of communication theory & signal processing
• Experience with Matlab or Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
• Experience with algorithms for timing recovery, signal estimation & detection, channel estimation, equalization, error correcting codes etc.
• RF System Modeling, RF impairments estimation & correction
• OFDM/MIMO Systems Design
• 5G/LTE Link Level and System Level simulation experience

Preferred Qualities/Nice to Have:

• Prior experience analyzing transmit chains from baseband through Antenna
• Experience in wireless design of products in the O-RAN ecosystem
