Job Description
The Child Life Program Coordinator (Technical) will collaborate with child life specialists, music therapists, child life assistants, and therapeutic arts in the management, implementation, and innovation of gaming, technology, and media arts.
Responsibilities
- Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, updates, and repairs child life gaming and technology systems and related peripheral equipment, collaborate with Information Services and Desktop Support team members for effective implementation of patient centered technology.
- Builds relationships and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop resources for and conduct program pilots with patients and families
- Provides education to staff on the utilization of new technology; collaborate with child life and music therapy staff on technology opportunities for patients and families
- Provide digital media experiences for patients and families including but not limited to VR, AR, 3-D printing, gaming, filming, recording, and robotics.
- Provide input to child life or music therapy team members about observed specific needs of individual children; determine when the needs of individual children should be attended to by medical professionals and/or outside the general scope of the role.
Work Experience
- Required: At least 1 year e xperience with Virtual reality and AR technologies, robots, game consoles, laptops, tablets. Knowledge of IOS, Android, and Window-based devices; at least 6 months. Experience in setting up and configuring technology devices.
- Required: At least 1 year of experience in customer service and skilled in effective solutions approach
- Required: At least one year experience working with children and families
Education
- Required: Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; IT, Education, Child Development, or related field.
- Preferred: Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience
