Description:
Insight Global is seeking (4) Capture Technicians who will be responsible for assisting in a virtual reality study for an AR/VR client. The goal is to create human avatars over the next five years in order to advance long distance communication into the VR/AR world.
Important Note: This person will be a part of a 7- person travel team that will be going to a different location in the U.S. every 3 months for 3 years. This is a unique opportunity with paid hotel and travel, daily per diem for food, and a completion bonus for every year that is dedicated to travel. This role will start in Pittsburgh and stay in Pittsburgh until the truck is ready to deploy. We do not know when that will be, but it will most likely be at least a year. We’re looking for someone to be in Pittsburgh until they’re given the notice that the truck is ready to deploy.
The Capture Technician will be responsible for executing a wide variety of experimental AR and VR research studies using large-scale capture domes, VR headsets, surveys, and other research collection methods. The Capture Technician will be responsible for interacting with internal and external participants; operating capture systems and guiding participants through the study, and communicating with project leads and stakeholders. Some additional project work related to the capture process and studies will also be required. Capture Technicians are expected to provide feedback on areas of improvement for capture processes.
Responsibilities include:
● Staging and setting-up equipment for the study, which may include engaging with engineering, external equipment vendors, internal and external safety evaluators, and the research study team to ensure the equipment is set up properly.
● Conducting the study, including participant coaching and interaction, operating complex, experimental capture systems, and debriefing with team leadership as necessary
● Performing basic troubleshooting of capture systems (hardware and software) and escalate any bugs or issues using internal tools
● Providing research study support, including data collection, tracking of participants, and tracking of equipment and procedures.
● Contributing to and/or update existing documentation
● Serving as a participant for studies and being captured in various systems as needed
● Completing project work related to captures such as recording and updating capture scripts
● Attending all required trainings, meetings, and standups
● Providing feedback for process improvement areas
