AP/AR Manager ~ Washington DC area
$110k-125K+ bonus opportunities. Hybrid flexibility.
POSITION
My client is a world-wide leader in the staffing industry based in the Washington DC metro area. This position handles operational financial activities which have increased due to significant sales growth and a significant influx of new clients added in 2021/2022. This opportunity offers tremendous room for growth and the ability to receive training and skill set expansion. Work is primarily offsite with some part time office presence required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management responsibilities for remote international operational staff.
- Review new client contracts, procedures and requirements and ensure the teams are setup properly to handle them.
- Manage the time card retrieval process (manual and automation program) to ensure time is captured quickly. Coordinate with payroll dept, as necessary, to resolve issues.
- Manage AP process – Expense reports, subcontractor invoices and vendor invoices, weekly payments, and manage subcontractor payments.
- Manage AR process – Timely invoicing and resolution of any issues surrounding invoices, monitor receivables for past due amounts and escalate and/or collaborate with account managers as necessary. Ensure all payments are applied in a timely manner. Monitor discounts and make sure that those are handled appropriately. Oversee the collections process and engage with outside collection agencies and/or attorneys to assist in elevated collection efforts.
- Final escalation points for all issues arising from normal financial business operations (timesheets, invoicing, AR, AP and payroll interface). Resolve issues and identify ways to adjust processes to prevent them in the future.
- Handle incoming communications from various outside departments.
- Have a solid understanding of the internal system and find solutions to problems or non-standard issues and integrate those solutions to our current processes.
REQUIREMENTS
- Self-Starter and experience managing a team at least 5+ staff
- System and process orientated
- Good management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Hands-on, detail oriented
- Multi-tasking skills
- Basic accounting skills (AP and AR)
- Excel
Preferred:
- Staffing company experience
- Microsoft Dynamics SL experience
