Dolby.io is a new developer platform by Dolby Labs that puts decades of Dolby sight and sound technology into the hands of developers to deliver quality in real-time streaming, communications, and media processing solutions — at scale. Summary:

Join Dolby Laboratories in exploring the intersection of science and virtual collaboration. This position is in the Dolby.io Communications API group and will work on samples for our Unity/Unreal plugins, as well as providing feedbacks to the product team. This role will involve the creation of virtual environment experience to demonstrate and test Dolby.io leading spatial audio and collaboration experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, build and develop Unity and Unreal samples and demos that helps to showcase the Dolby.io Communications API capabilities.
  • Investigate metaverse use cases that present opportunities for enhanced collaboration, virtual events and engagement.
  • Provide feedbacks to the product team on how to improve the API, developer experience.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have these skills and background:

  • Be working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, neuroscience, cognitive sciences, or an advanced art/media degree with a strong technical focus.
  • Demonstrated success in creation of computer and gaming media such as gaming environments and engines.
  • An understanding and interest in scientific research and experimental design, hypothesis testing, and collection of perceptual data.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to manipulate, visualize, and extract meaning from diverse data sets.
  • Working knowledge of computer languages, development environments, and content creation tools.

Eligibility:

Working towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, neuroscience, cognitive sciences, or an advanced art/media degree with a strong technical focus, or a related field; recent grads within 6 months of graduation are eligible to apply. Must be available to work full-time Monday–Friday for 3 months starting from May/June 2023.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base hourly range for this internship position is $45 - $50/hr., and can vary if outside of this location. Our hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
