12 Month Hourly Staff FT
In this role, the XR Studio Technician will be responsible for the management, setup, operation, maintenance and repair of all production equipment used in the XR stage. This position oversees and conducts events, workshops, classes and tours of the space and works closely with the Engineering Manager and related staff to ensure this equipment is maintained to spec. Experience in Extended Reality (XR) to also include Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR) and Virtual Reality (VR) is required along with experience with the workings of a live studio production.
Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in a digital media field.
• 5 years of experience in film/TV, entertainment, gaming or related industry.
• Experience with XR technology and professional studio equipment including RED Digital cameras and Jimmy Jib camera cranes.
• Hands on working experience and strong understanding of game engines such as Unreal Engine.
• Experience working and designing immersive experiences.
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
