Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Software (SW) Technical Program Manager (TPM) with a strong technical background in Manufacturing Operations, covering the needs of AR/VR systems and who can contribute to influence and drive the SW elements of the manufacturing process, from early prototypes to final MP devices (covering all the calibration and verification stages through the production cycle).


This role will also expose you to many cross-functional teams and you will get to experience building products for the future. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of highly technical TPM processes, as well as a deep understanding of Software topics, how they interact with multi-components systems, a passion for systems software and embedded device architectures, and familiarity with various OS architectures and programming models.


You will collaborate with engineering and internal/external teams to lead the execution of all phases of the development cycle, planning requirements, managing schedules, identifying and tracking risks, and clearly communicating to project stakeholders about the status and risks in the program. You will work with the teams to identify and solve a diverse set of technical challenges across the full technology stack: hardware, firmware, kernel, frameworks, and applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage communication within and between external engineering firms and internal AR/VR software.
  • Work with teams to communicate project statuses, and identify/address potential setbacks and risks.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and product development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment.
  • Coordinate and contribute to engineering deliverables including specifications and test plans including SW for factory validation.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and available for staff and leadership review.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams including 3rd party partners to identify constraints, dependencies, risks/issues, and to deliver software features.
  • Up to 20% travel.




Qualifications:

  • Experience with project schedules based on product requirements, resources, risks, and business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills to report and drive both internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience in the life cycle of consumer products.
  • Experience with Software Development processes including: source control, bug tracking, and design documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Ability to provide concise and clear reports for status, progress, and risks for a program.
  • Good technical knowledge of SW development processes (Agile preferable) Good knowledge of embedded products, Android, and test frameworks and environments.
  • Ability to engage with cross-functional teams to identify dependencies, and risks/issues, and to deliver software features.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and shipping embedded software products on large code bases that span platforms and tools.
  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years experience as a program manager working in a cross-functional software or Platform development environment or equivalent experience.
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and dealing with ambiguity.



Standout Qualifications:

  • Experience as a TPM leading Devs (SW/FW), QA, and System Engineers working on the middle to lower layers of the software stack, in-app frameworks, operating systems, and/or BSP/drivers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of factory operations and processes for consumer electronic devices.
