Description:
The main function of a Prototyper is to research, design, and create interactive prototypes in areas including augmented and virtual reality. A typical prototyper is responsible for building and enhancing prototyping platforms in partnership with other prototypers and technical teams.

Job Responsibilities:
- Research, design, and create interactive prototypes using Client input techniques
- Set up and maintain prototypes and present to various audiences
- Assist user researchers in implementing user studies and tools to evaluate realtime user performance
- Communicate analysis to cross-functional partners
- Give and solicit real-time feedback from others in order to approve the quality of the product
- Partner effectively with research scientists, PMs, engineers and user researchers overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch
- Contribute to strategic decisions, working with the Design, Product and Executive teams
- Create product-ready assets for internal rapid testing and external release
- Advocate for product design throughout Client

Skills:
- Experience with real-time 3D development in Unity game engine
- Strong programming ability in one or more languages (C#, C/C++, Python, Java)
- Experience with building user interactions and interfaces in AR/VR
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills and problem solving ability are required.
- Strong ability to visualize in 3D and understand aesthetic aspects of design.
- Experience working in ambiguous and dynamic problem spaces where pivoting is common (e.g. startups)

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience required

Story Behind the Need Business Group & Key Projects:
This role will be working in the action recognition team of the XR Input org. This team aims at providing solutions for productivity and social presence use cases with technology innovation, and is working on Client input technologies including text input, gesture recognition and realtime hand object interaction recognition. There are around 20 active members working in this team, including research scientists, research engineers, software engineers, product manager and UX designer. The team needs a prototyper to work on building VR/MR/AR Unity app prototypes for demoing and fish fooding its new technologies as well as supporting user experience research and study. Such responsibilities are shared among our UX designer and engineers now, but as the team makes progress and speeds up all its projects, more and more prototyping works emerge while less bandwidth are available from FTE engineers to work on the prototypes.

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:
