The Team:
The Osso VR QA team is composed of talented individuals with a passion for Quality! With a mix of games specialists as well as enterprise software testing specialists, we have a team focused on balance, proactive testing and VR excellence. When we aren't testing, we are enjoying community time in fun events like 'Throw Down Thursday' where we play games together. We welcome new QA analysts and QA engineers alike to our growing team of amazing people.
We are excited to be looking for an QA Manager to join our stellar team at Osso VR!
The Role:
Our Quality Assurance team includes talented specialists from the games and enterprise software industries. These specialists partner with our customers (doctors, surgeons, and other experts in the medical field) who share our mission of helping people, and using cutting edge technologies for greatest impact.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support the team testing products and supporting Osso’s customers through their issues, questions, and concerns with software and hardware
- Identifying ways to improve the product, our customer experience, and our release and support
processes
- Identifying issues in product functionality and usability
- Tracking test data to inform process and documentation
- Upholding QA best practices and standards across the QA teams
- Guiding your QA leads and analysts in project testing and analysis
- Help guide the QA leads supporting the Osso release process
- Assessing and allocating QA Lead resources to execute projects
- Creating actionable test plans based on test data and QA Lead collaboration
- Working closely with the Director of QA to identify process improvements
- Manage QA Leads and Analysts as direct reports including performance reviews
- Help inform QA standards and onboarding process
- Communicate with stakeholders on QA process and status and lead meetings
- Analyzing test data to inform risk mitigation
- 1:1 meetings with QA leads to maintain team health and improve efficiency
What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
- Have 7+ years of QA leadership experience including people management
- Have experience prioritizing issues based on customer impact
- Have experience training and mentoring QA team members
- Have experience creating test plans for projects and features
- Have experience investigating customer reports, diagnosing root causes
- Have experience collaborating with product, delivery and engineering teams
- Are passionate about efficient exploratory testing practices
- Are comfortable analyzing test data in relation to business needs and goals
- Are able to stay organized in a fast, fluid environment
- Excellent at following up on critical communication and statuses
- Are comfortable multi-tasking, working on multiple products and releases in parallel
- Are willing and able to view graphic surgical content as needed
- Are willing and able to regularly use virtual reality gear, such as the Oculus Quest headset and
Touch controllers, for extended periods of time
- Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Are a pragmatic and creative problem solver
- Are responsible, reliable and resilient
Bonus:
- Previous experience testing games or enterprise software
- Previous experience leading QA teams with explicit timelines
- Previous experience working with remote/distributed teams
- Previous experience with TestRail or comparable test case management software
- Previous experience with Agile/Scrum projects and processes
- Previous experience with test automation frameworks
- Previous experience with development pipelines
- A demonstrated interest in virtual reality
- Familiarity with medical terminology
