We are seeking a Prototyper on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. The main function of this role is to research, design, and create interactive prototypes in areas including augmented and virtual reality. A typical Prototyper is responsible for building and enhancing prototyping platforms in partnership with other Prototypers and technical teams.


What You’ll Do


  • Research, design, and create interactive prototypes using novel input techniques
  • Set up and maintain prototypes and present them to various audiences
  • Assist user researchers in implementing user studies and tools to evaluate real-time user performance
  • Communicate analysis to cross-functional partners
  • Give and solicit real-time feedback from others in order to approve the quality of the product
  • Partner effectively with research scientists, PMs, engineers, and user researchers overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions, working with the Design, Product, and Executive teams
  • Create product-ready assets for internal rapid testing and external release
  • Advocate for product design throughout the company
  • Work in the action recognition team of the XR Input organization
  • Work on building VR/MR/AR Unity app prototypes for demoing and fish fooding its new technologies as well as supporting user experience research and study.


Must-Haves


  • Experience with real-time 3D development in the Unity game engine
  • Strong programming ability in one or more languages (C#, C/C++, Python, Java)
  • Experience with building user interactions and interfaces in Artificial Reality and Virtual Reality (AR/VR)
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving ability are required.
  • A strong ability to visualize in 3D and understand aesthetic aspects of design is preferred
  • Experience with computer vision and machine learning is preferred
  • Experience working in ambiguous and dynamic problem spaces where pivoting is common (e.g., startups) is preferred


Education


  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience is required


Hours & Location:


  • M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be on-site at our customer’s Redmond, WA office.
