About The Role
Mass Virtual is looking for a creative 3D Artist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate possesses a great eye for design, color, and composition. We are looking for someone who displays the ability to be productive and flexible while accomplishing a wide range of tasks within our fast-paced, team-collaborative environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating high poly and low poly models of props and environmental assets
- Creating efficient UV layouts that work well within the engine/platform constraints
- Photorealistic texturing of environmental objects
- Set up assets and materials in a game engine
- Optimize for VR and validate assets in a VR environment
- Contribute to workflow documentation
- Assist in data collection (photography, 3d Scanning, etc.)
- Work within budgets for the given platforms
- Work independently on assets and collaborate with code and design teams
- Define work processes together with the Art and Project Managers
- Strong knowledge of 3D modeling software (Maya, 3DS Max)
- High competency with software used in texturing (Substance Painter, Photoshop)
- A strong ability to create believable environments within a game engine
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to derive a well-structured low poly model from a high poly model
- Ability to build high poly-models
- Strong understanding of efficient UV layout for low poly objects
- Ability to adapt to new technologies
- Ability to perform work in accordance with prescribed deadlines, on time, and high quality
- A strong understanding of physically based materials
- A passion for games and Virtual Reality
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Focused, motivated, and effective on all tasks through completion
- Excellent oral and written English language skills
- Ability to gain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Production Experience in the gaming or simulation industries
- Strong knowledge of Zbrush
- Lighting Experience
- Animation / Rigging Experience
- Scripting experience
- Understanding of the technology of computer game production
- Art education
- Blender experience
- Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal, CryEngine, etc.)
