3D art is essential for the future of social virtual reality applications and their communities. We are committed to providing Avatars that represent everyone's identity authentically in both current and yet-to-be-invented experiences.As an Art Manager, you will contribute to the design and development of Avatars across VR, mobile and augmented reality experiences. Your team is responsible for defining how Avatars look, feel and move. You will work cross-functionally with PMs, engineers, tech artists, producers, and designers to deliver impactful products that reach a global audience.Join us in creating the future!


Art Manager Responsibilities:


  • Support a team of Artists responsible for establishing visual targets and executing art assets across all Meta Platforms including AR/VR Experiences projects
  • Recruit, interview, and hire strategically for gaps and long term success
  • Mentor, support and grow a group of artists and manage team health
  • Collaborate with and influence cross functional teams to develop a shared vision for projects
  • Partner with PMs, Designers and Eng. & Art Leads to define scope, deliverables, dependencies and roadmap across multiple projects
  • Promote the value of art throughout the wider organization through visual draft posts, presentations, and direct communication


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, growing and managing artists
  • Interests for driving accountability and empowering teams to produce results
  • Proven self-motivated and product thinking
  • Demonstrate experience leading optimistically and thrive in ambiguity
  • Proven delivering 3 or more high complexity projects (feature films or AAA titles) as a Creative Team manager
  • Communication, presentation and collaboration skills
  • Experience with 2D/3D Art Tools and/or realtime technologies (e.g. Maya, Unity, ZBrush, Photoshop, Houdini, modern ray tracers)


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience sourcing and managing external Vendors
  • Experience with 3D based character design and development workflows, and with user generated customization
