Creative Technologist

Employer

Job Description

Media.Monks SEA is looking for a Creative Technologist to champion technology, working at the intersection of the digital and the physical world. In this position, you’ll stand at the base of the most challenging projects we produce for the world’s leading brands and businesses.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Creative Technologist at Media.Monks, you come up with novel uses of existing and emerging technologies. You are our go-to creative for new technologies and have knowledge in one or more of the following fields: AR, MR, VR, bots, physical computing, game development, Machine Learning, Computer Vision and stuff we didn’t even think of capitalising yet.

You bridge the gap between our clients, our creatives and our developers by speaking the language of all three. You become the glue allowing all sorts of crazy ideas to come to life.

To do that you need to conceptualise, prototype and deliver creative applications. You’ll help to develop a wide range of complex concepts, from ML-based activations to the world’s largest AR experience, 4D installations, VR experiences, interactive video events and robotic krakens.

You’ll visit work with clients, participate in workshops, and woo people with your combination of creative thinking and technical know-how. You’ll help win new projects by developing creative and technical directions with our tech directors, that are exciting and in keeping with the project’s goals.

The role involves a lot of tinkering, tweaking and testing; doing original R&D and playing around with new technologies and APIs, and creating original prototypes that work as proof of concept. You need to be aware of the next thing, keeping the pulse of what is possible.

Always learning, you’re confident in inventing the wheel for a wide variety of challenging projects — when there are no best practices available, we need people like you to figure out what’s best.

You’re the kind of person that can talk tech with our developers, ZBrush with our 3D modellers, and AWS versus GCP with Hosting Monks.

You can also walk the walk, creating comps with tools like Photoshop and Illustrator and giving them a run in HTML or Unity.

Requirements

  • You have worked at least 3 years in roles that bridge creative and technology in the field of interactive/experiential/digital agencies or production companies.
  • You have a portfolio of boundary-pushing work.
