Cavrnus is seeking a talented UX/UI Designer (Contractor) to join our team working on a cutting-edge experience-focused metaverse platform ecosystem that spans desktop, tablet, mobile, web and all XR form factors. 


The Cavrnus UX/UI Designer (Contractor) will have the ability to handle both creative and technical issues during UX/UI development, as well as be able to work quickly in a team atmosphere with schedules and reliable milestone delivery. Passion for precise and usable interface design and the ability to explore a wide range of styles across all media is crucial.


The Cavrnus UX/UI Designer (Contractor) will report to the Director of Product Design. This is an opportunity for an experienced designer to help explore new methods of interaction design. As we build the team for Cavrnus, we are looking for collaborative individuals comfortable in a start-up environment and excited by innovative ideas; who are dedicated to producing a compelling, best-in-class experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on end-to-end product design: discovery and UX; creative execution; delivery of final production-ready assets for development integration. 
  • Produce accompanying documentation at each stage: discovery docs (requirements-gathering, specifications), UX architecture (sitemaps, wireframes, user flows), and UI design (mock-ups, UI specifications, style guides).
  • Lead and collaborate with internal and external teams on iterative UI design, including design specifications, and design system development.
  • Employ excellent visual, communication, and presentation skills to help others understand design decisions.


Experience and Skills:

  • 4-6 years of UX/UI design.
  • Proficient in UI prototyping tools (Figma, XD, etc.), mograph skills helpful, not required. 
  • XR experience across AR, VR and MR, including immersive world-creation, AR filters and 3D game design.
  • Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine, Blender, Maya, etc., is a plus.
  • Experience in systems design, such as sophisticated experiences for combined web, mobile and native application platforms.
  • Strong portfolio with a highly-refined aesthetic, showing original problem solving.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.


Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Design/Visual Communications, Fine Arts, Architecture, CompSci or a related field, or combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum education.


Minimum Experience: 4-6 years of UX/UI design for enterprise-grade cross-platform multi-device ecosystems.


Related Fields of Expertise: software development, advertising, creative direction, game design, architecture, Film User Interface (FUI) design, XR video production, or related field experience. Prior work in XR apps, immersive VR world design or 3D games is a plus.
