Future Colossal is looking for a Delivery Director for our innovation lab's Leadership Team. As Delivery Director, you would be leading and mentoring our small team of producers, as well as overseeing our production workflow, delivery process, client satisfaction, and cross-initiative schedule. You would work side by side with a diverse team of technologists, designers, marketing experts, strategists, and team leads, and report directly to our founding leadership team.

About You:

  • You're a natural leader that excels at managing a team, implementing and maintaining processes and protocols, contingency planning, and analyzing success of production health across our portfolio of projects / clients.
  • As a lead, you understand how to guide producers and project team's through tight deadlines, challenging scopes, and high-value budgets utilizing our production workflow, as well as how to adjust and create processes to iteratively improve project workflows.
  • You're skilled at leading meetings, organizing information, delegating responsibilities, and mentoring team members.
  • You're talented at managing clients and fostering growing relationships, while understanding how to have hard conversations and push back if needed.
  • You're comfortable negotiating, serving as a point of escalation and arbitration, and being a hands-on manager of projects when needed.
  • You're an egoless leader that fosters team growth, shows empathy, builds trusted relationships with senior leadership / clients, and is able to read a room and adjust responses quickly based on the situation.
  • Your personality traits include acute attention to detail and you're frequently described as always on top of it, over-prepared, and super-organized.
  • You have a good understanding of planning and production methodology approaches such as agile, waterfall, and hybrid solutions across various production types ranging from creative to software development to fabrication to logistical.
  • You're driven to improve work product quality, budget conscious, and able to effectively deliver successful high-revenue projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and mentor producer team on scopes of work, production schedules, staffing schedules, purchasing plans, QA, install schedules / logistics, and other project deliverables across multiple projects simultaneously in accordance with the approved timelines and budgets
  • Problem solve unique project challenges, course-correct team performance, and facilitate decision making for issue resolution and consensus among the team members
  • Anticipate opportunities / risks, and lead the producer team through them strategically without compromising team or project goals
  • Proactively take steps to ensure the team achieves consistent management of client expectations and delivery at the highest quality service
  • Show personal ownership and accountability of overall production workflow, overall project delivery, delivery processes adherence, and proper usage of associated tracking tools to contribute to a culture of efficiency, optimization, and improvement
  • Analyze team allocation and efficiency, and set overall short-term and long-term production priorities across our project portfolio, as requested by project teams
  • Assign and track overall staff allocations against staffing estimates, and utilization to ensure work load and team size properly balance
  • Source, negotiate, contract, and manage outside project freelancers / vendors as team allocations and budgets require
  • Act as an escalation point when needed and facilitate arbitration with producers, other departments, senior leadership, or clients
  • Promote a motivational, transparent, collaborative, fun, and trustful environment where teams can work efficiently and deliver high-quality products quickly
  • Ensure direct reports feel supported, nurtured, and appropriately challenged


Requirements:

  • Proven project management experience with 5-10 years of hands-on project management or production
  • Proven leadership abilities with preferred 1-3 years director or equivalent experience in creative technology, digital production, software development, engineering, innovation, events, or agency
  • Well-rounded understanding of technology, design, logistics, business operations, and advertising
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Strong familiarity with standard project management tools and methodologies
  • Strong Excel knowledge with the ability to organize and analyze data, and draw conclusions that make positive impacts on business goals
  • Extensive client facing experience with a polished, professional, confident demeanor and enthusiasm for advocating for user experience
  • Able to effectively cope with and help others excel in stressful situations and multi-task high-detail workloads for multiple clients, projects and assignments
  • Effectively prioritizes, takes proactive measures, and jumps into any role to ensure project success; a strong team player mentality with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
