Job Description
SUMMARY:Our Associate Art Director will lead our in-house and award-winning creative team that is responsible for generating and creating best-in-class content across all social media platforms. This role serves a dual purpose on our team and the right candidate will need to bring proven chops and skills in fundamental areas of design, video and photo while simultaneously identifying content opportunities within trends across platforms like TikTok, AR/VR, Gaming and Gen-Z culture. The responsibilities in this role encompass multiple facets of social media. On any given week you may create or edit short-form video for TikTok, be asked to design a logo for a campaign or even come up with creative content ideas for emerging trends.
To be successful in this role, this leader must come with or develop a deep understanding of our brand, our voice, and our company values.
You will manage the success of two designers and strategists on your team, be responsible for ensuring the quality of every single piece of content that gets posted and be able to juggle multiple projects at one time. You will also work closely with brand marketing creative teams to ensure alignment across visuals and creative while identifying cross-functional moments to partner with brand marketing.
Responsibilities
- Lead our in-house social designers and content creators to generate highly engaging content across social media platforms.
- Partner with Social Media Producer to manage the full creative production process for all content to ensure it is ready for presentation / approval and eventually scheduling.
- Design, develop and sometimes shoot (if able) content across all social media platforms.
- Work with Head of Social to develop monthly and seasonal creative and content plans and ideas.
- Lead and participate in weekly internal social brainstorms to generate ideas and assign them to be produced.
- See trending moments happening across social, ideate ways to generate quick-turnaround content and quickly present them for consideration / approval.
- Partner with paid media and brand marketing teams to oversee the development of creative for campaigns and activations with our platform partners (TikTok, YouTube, Meta, SNAP, Twitch, etc).
- Present bi-weekly creative and content trends.
- Some night and weekend work may be necessary during busier seasons (social never turns off!)
Qualifications
- At least 5+ years at an agency or brand working as a Creative Strategist, Art Director, Sr. Designer or Content Strategist.
- A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university in design or marketing is preferred but not required.
- You’ve made a presentation deck before and really KNOW how to make them.
- A strong and proven background in Adobe Creative Suite (PS, AI, ID) with the ability to train junior designers.
- A portfolio of social media campaign work and video editing skills in both native platforms (Reels; TikTok) as well as motion graphics and video platforms like After Effects and Premiere Pro.
- The ability to work well under pressure and ability to adapt to change that happens quickly.
- A desire to push people to think outside of comfort zones and the ability to communicate why it matters in a thoughtful and convincing way.
- A zest for culture – you spend probably way too many hours scrolling through TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.
- An excitement and interest in fashion and retail is preferred.

Pay/Benefits Information
- Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
