Position: Metaverse Administrator, Systems Engineer

Groove Jones, a creative technology company that produces next-generation experiences for world-class brands, specializing in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Interactive Entertainment technologies, is currently seeking a Metaverse Administrator, Systems Engineer to help work events involving our XR Avatar Scanner.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations of equipment and systems during the event. Our 3D Photogrammetry booth will take scans of over 100 people per hour, automatically outputting video content which is then sent to the end user. Your job will be to monitor the backend systems to ensure that the user receives their high quality content in a timely manner. This job entails anything from QAing the content, communicating with staff, checking and troubleshooting the automated systems in order to deliver a great experience. You will be the point person for on-site staff to call should a technical error occur.

This job is part-time, remote, and in the evenings.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide technical operations support during events, monitor equipment and systems to ensure they are fully operable and running smoothly.
• Review quality of inbound data to ensure equipment is being used correctly. Communicate with on-site staff to correct errors, or troubleshoot equipment when needed.
• Maintain numerous automated scripts to assist in managing UNIX systems.
• Load, check, reboot software installations on M1 workstations
• Actively liaise with leadership team to provide feedback and suggestions on possible enhancements and improvements
• Manage expectations on production challenges, proactively providing solutions

Qualifications

• 3+ years of UNIX experience
• System administration
• Python scripting
• Experience with Blender is a plus
