Bell in Fort Worth, TX has an immediate opening for an experienced
Engineering Digital Design Specialist to join our onsite team.
In this role, you are responsible for the development and implementation of state-of-the-art Digital Mockup (DMU) and 3D modeling tools, databases, processes, technology, and techniques that support integration, verification and downstream re-use of 3D Engineering CAD models
. The Digital Design Specialist is a member of the 3D Data Integration IPT (Integrated Product Team) in support of Bell’s enterprise Digital Thread strategy.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop tools and processes to use CAD master data model and DMU infrastructure standards to support digital thread framework that connects engineering source data with various downstream functional data
- Work with internal and external customers to understand and capture requirements to solve problems and/or improve our solutions.
- Provide support for customers post implementation.
- Work closely with product support team to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Identify business cases and scenarios for our customers.
- Convert large quantities of CAD models into AR/VR/MR (XR) based content for training and remote-assistance purposes
- Provide data collaboration solutions for transmitting and updating 3D data content to multiple users throughout the product lifecycle
- Provide input and develop requirements regarding next-generation DMU-related software and processes. Participate in testing and production roll-outs as required.
- Collaborate with IT, and various functional organizations on the integration of DMU-related software with other business systems.
- Possess forward thinking ideas and willingness to work in an evolving environment
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical field is required. Other four-year technical degrees will be considered with sufficient applicable experience. Applicable advanced degrees will count towards years of experience.
Position Requirements - Experience at all levels will be considered with a minimum of 4 years of experience with a BS (as described above), minimum of 2 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- Candidate must have CAD modeling experience. CATIA V5 or V6 experience is preferred.
- Experience converting large quantities of CAD models into AR/VR/MR (XR) based content for training and remote-assistance purposes
- Experience managing your projects with autonomy
- Experience with the following is valuable:
- Computing hardware build/maintenance and networking
- VR/AR hardware (e.g. Vive, HoloLens, etc.)
- Communication skills for relaying technical data (verbal and written) between other employees and customers
- Experience with application development.
- Candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to accurately relay information to both technical and management forums.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint will be expected.
- Candidate must have strong organizational skills.
