Our art department is led by award winning artists from companies such as Industrial Light & Magic, Microsoft, and Apple. Our team has contributed to some of the largest properties in the world on films and game franchises like Star Wars, Transformers, Halo, Avengers, and Black Panther, to name just a few. We are excited to be looking for an Animation & Rigging Generalist to join our stellar team at Osso VR!

The Role:

The Animation & Rigging Generalist works closely with the Art Director, Artists, Engineers, Medical Illustrators, and Technical Artists to rig and animate assets that are medically accurate down to the finest detail, aesthetically pleasing, and optimized for Osso VR’s customers including Surgeons,Residents, and Reps.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Rigging and animating organic and hard-surface models, to match real-world and conceptual reference
• Integration of rigs and animation in Unity engine to preview, iterate, optimize, and polish to a quality bar and visual direction as set by the Art Director, while upholding and maintaining performance budgets, and other run-time requirements
• Consistently self-educate and research medical information to help inform assets and build our toolset and provide input to drive new technology and pipeline innovations
• Work collaboratively with the Art Director, Art leads, and all other disciplines including Production to help set and maintain the quality standard across the team and meet deadlines
  
  

What You’ll Need To Be Successful:

Must have:

• Have a deep understanding of anatomy, both internal and external, as well as mechanical functionality
• Proficiency and specialization in Autodesk Maya
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Awareness of latest trends in rigging software, and cutting edge technologies
• Deadline driven self starter, ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision
• Comfortable/respectful of viewing graphic surgical procedures and guides as reference material
• Previous Unity experience
• Extensive animation experience, particularly for games
• Experience with MEL and/or Python scripting
