Avatar Dimension is a groundbreaking mixed reality studio in the Washington DC area. We’re a dynamic company with a passion for new and cutting-edge technologies. We specialize in making high-end volumetric video content for mixed reality applications and experiences. Our clients span from the Department of Defense to corporate to Hollywood.
We are seeking a like-minded Head of Production that can effectively run our production and post-production pipelines on our upcoming projects. Our staff is small, so you'll be expected to be flexible and self-directed, to innovate and wear multiple hats, be able to multitask, and show initiative and leadership.
You’ll need excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure with a forward-thinking approach. You’ll be the first point of contact on every aspect of the production and post-production process, liaising with clients and reporting directly to the CEO and GM.
The role will cover the full production span from budgeting and planning through to final delivery. You’ll be the client’s main point of contact, managing all new incoming requests, providing progress reports, and ensuring final delivery dates are hit.
This role is predominantly remote (unless you're local and choose to work in-office), but in-studio days will be required for shoots, tours, meetings, etc. So the ability to easily get to Ashburn is essential. Also, the studio itself is mobile, so occasional travel shoots should be expected.
Key responsibilities:
•Prepare pitch decks, budgets, internal documents.
•Manage multiple projects from pre-production to release, ensuring production pipelines are carried out effectively on all projects.
•Create and maintain relevant documentation for production pipelines and processes.
•Demonstrate exemplary leadership and communication skills .
•Improve the implementation and execution of production best practices.
•Hire and liaise with freelance crew members.
•Schedule and manage shoots.
•Effectively manage project-based staffing needs and budgeting plans.
•Ensure the high quality standards and expectations of the studio are met across all projects.
•Track project financial performance through budget creation, management, and reconciliation.
Essential experience:
•3+ years as a production manager, post producer, or VFX producer.
•Familiarity with 3D and 2D VFX pipelines and formats.
•Communicating with clients and agencies.
•Scheduling and tracking project progress.
•Ability to prepare visually pleasing pitch decks and internal documents.
•Working experience with Microsoft Office.
•Familiarity with VR/AR/XR technology and trends.
•Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
