In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. Summary

This individual will support activities in two areas: data analytics and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) applications. For data analytics projects, the selected candidate will:

• Leverage the KCNSC’s Big Data Platform (Hue, Apache Spark , Zeppelin, etc.) to support the development and deployment of tools aimed at process improvement, defect reduction, and predictive analytics for manufacturing and business applications
• Support the ingestion, data preparation, curation, and governance of large, multi-faceted data sets supporting analytics models and workflows
• Contribute to the production of information products, supporting visualization and data accessibility in a customer centric manner
  

As part of the VR/AR team, they will contribute to:

• Supporting KCNSC digital transformation activities including smart factory, data visualization, and adaptive training
• Planning and execution of both VR and AR experiences
• Leading and influencing research projects focused on improving training, collaboration, and work instructions
• Working with collaborative team to determine future VR/AR research and production needs
  

You Must Have

• BS in engineering from ABET accredited institution or master’s degree in data science or related field, or two years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Demonstrated analytical skills, proficient with computer software applications, and the ability to produce and consume written documentation
  

We Value

• Experience with Apache Zeppelin, SQL, R, Python, or PySpark
• Experience with Unity, Microsoft Mixed Reality Toolkit, C#, and/or WebGL
• Experience with Microsoft HoloLens 2 and/or HTC Vive Pro hardware
• Experience with Steam VR, OpenVR, and/or UWP platforms
• Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
• Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
