Social Media Internship

Hybrid Virtual - IRL in Miami, FL 12 hours per week

To facilitate educational and artistic projects where the internet, data, virtual reality, and art converge. We raise awareness of contemporary digital culture and its footprints. -Mud Foundation Mission

Come join the team at The MUD Foundation. We are Miami’s first and only non-profit arts organization focused on art and technology. We serve the South Florida community with exhibitions, education and artist development. MUD is entirely artist born and run. It is a place for artists, collectors and appreciators.

Internship for school credit or internship with possibility to be hired in the future.

Our exhibition schedule is focused on showcasing work using technology such as virtual reality, meta verse based, video games, artificial intelligence, electromagnetic fields, digital animation and much more. We also assist artists in the creation of artworks that use technology with the help of our sponsors Next Reality Digital and Big Motion Studios. The majority of our artists are based in Miami although we have connections world-wide.

We do not sell our artists work, we bring in collectors, museums and galleries. We are a non-commercial connective organization participating in the Miami Art ecosystem. Working with us will bring you connections and introduce you to the Miami art ecosystem.

Desired Candidate Qualifications

● Strong interest in learning about the history of art and technology and its contemporary forms
● Familiarity with social media companies like Instagram, Facebook, Discord, Twitter, TikTok, etc
● Ability to independently learn and use software as needed
● 12 hours per week, remote work mostly with attendance at events
● Ability to take photos and videos during events
Desired Additional Skills
● Experience using technology creatively
● Artist/designer
● The desire to experiment in new ways to engage and excite community
● Copyediting

Potential Tasks

● Posting on Instagram multiple times a week
● Maintaining our Facebook and LinkedIn Pages, posting interesting content on
them weekly
● Moderating our Discord group and onboarding people there
● Posting on Twitter and interacting with current and future connections there
● Hosting live events on Twitter, Instagram and potentially TikTok.
● Onboarding MUD to other social media software
● Copyediting written content by MUD staff
● Posting information on behalf of MUD staff such as: event announcements,
reminders, updates and any other relevant materials
● Watching all MUD artist’s social media and personal announcements and
responding and reposting

careers
● Connections to the MUD community which includes artists, art collectors, technologists and South Florida art museums, galleries. These include Locust Projects, ICA Miami Museum, DACRA, Miami Design District and Locust Projects
● Experience in extended reality offices on the metaverse and software such as Slack, Figma, Trello and Confluence
● Access to unused equipment like speciality cameras, VR headsets, monitors, etc.
● Experience working alongside two extended reality companies, Next Reality and
Big Motion Studios
● Possibility of longer-term employment and a great addition to your CV/Resume
