The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from technologies and investments to supply chain, manufacturing and test operations, facilities management, and information technology services.

Technical Aide

Facilities & Support Services teams support Ball Aerospace’s 40 properties, over 2 million SF of real estate, in Colorado. This established team of over 90 Facilities professionals is committed to service and support, continuous improvement, and creating and maintaining Facilities which enable world class engineers and technicians to create a better, safer, and more informed and productive world.

Ball’s Facilities Engineering team provides facilities designs and engineering guidance across Ball campuses in Westminster, Lafayette, Broomfield and Boulder. We are seeking a candidate to assist the Facilities BIM Team with customization of web applications to foster efficiency of use. This position is part time and is anticipated to be 4 to 10 hours per week of effort.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop applications to assist Facilities effectively utilize Revit models
  • Create 3D Models and Animations for VR/AR applications.
  • Convert 3D Models and Animations into VR/AR engine formats.
  • Work alongside the BIM Group to support new model viewing functionality.
  • Support cross-functional team projects to improve business process effectiveness.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need
  • Enrollment currently in a BS degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field is required.
  • Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A strong desire to learn and excellent work ethic.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team and solo environment.
  • Experience with Autodesk products preferred.
  • Experience developing VR/AR applications preferred.
  • Experience working with Unity3D or Unreal Engine.
  • Programming experience with C#/C++.
  • Experience working with software version control preferred.
  • Experience coding GPU shaders preferred.
  • Experience working with Solidworks/3DS Max/Maya preferred.
  • Passion for creativity, problem-solving, and troubleshooting.

Off-Site Work Environment: This position may be performed remotely, typically at the employee’s home, and may require periodic work at a specified Ball location. Travel/commute to various Ball and/or customer locations at times when not “home based” may be required.

Compensation & Benefits
  • HIRING SALARY RANGE: $19.30 - $27.50 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
