We’re hiring a Lead Behavioral Scientist to join our User Research team to test and evaluate innovative enterprise Augmented Reality Solutions and designs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead user research for the Solutions team, studying how users interact with headworn Augmented Reality applications, interfaces and products, and provide recommendations to design and engineering teams based on tested best practices
  • Use a range of rigorous research-driven methods (quantitative and qualitative) to evaluate user experience, usability, and to drive product direction
  • Be a champion for research within and outside of the company - actively lead participation in external conferences, publications etc.
  • Work closely with customers, partners, developers to understand user/customer/business needs
  • Collaborate and iterate with other disciplines within the design org (interaction design, visual design, prototyping etc.)
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams including product managers and engineers
  • Champion the developer experience
  • Write Human Interface Guidelines for user experience in Augmented Reality founded in tested best practices
  • Apply principles from Behavioral Science and Psychology to user research
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant research experience, or 4+ with a research PhD in relevant field (Psychology, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Neuroscience etc.)
  • Track record of research / testing of innovative tech products
  • Self-starter, can navigate and thrive in ambiguous and novel territory, managing and executing all aspects of the research project
  • Rigorous researcher with strong track record of published research and conference presentations
  • Team player that’s excited about cooperating with a diverse team of talented designers, engineers and cross-functional partners
  • Understanding of and experience with planning and conducting statistical analyses
  • Expert in human behavior and factors that affect performance and user experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience conducting research for Augmented or Virtual Reality is a plus
