A Tech Artist job is available through Belcan. In this role you will create effective and impactful training using game technologies focused on procedural and dynamic gameplay methodology. You create meaningful visuals in support of training products to better improve the knowledge, skills, and retention of taught material for products. We are looking for a technical artist to model, texture, rig, animate, and implement art into Unity3d and Unreal Engine 5 related to desktop, mobile, and VR training products. The goal is to facilitate better learning experiences through utilizing game technologies and game play mechanics via a serious game"s methodology for products in an effective and appealing manner.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate customer requirements and determine appropriate course of actions to achieve desired results.
  • Develop and adapt workflows based on scope and budget presented.
  • Accurate estimation on work based on requirements given.
  • Provide technical input on product design and path.
  • Tying in art assets to gameplay mechanics using Unreal Engine"s Blueprints and visual coding system.
  • Creating dynamic materials in Unreal Engine"s material node system and driving its usability through Blueprints.
  • Being capable of switching out GPUs, RAM, hard drives, and other hardware in or connected to computer workstations.
  • Setup and understand the basics of a VR physical play space.
  • Understanding performance limitations of virtual reality and how to best create art to its optimal effect for use in virtual reality.
  • Model simple and complex objects with appropriate edge flow through box modeling, kit bashing, and/or procedural means.
  • Texture utilizing Physical Based Rendering methodology either through traditional or procedural workflow.
  • Utilize visual effects systems and understand how they interact with game mechanics at a basic level.
Qualifications
  • 4 years of experience creating content for and working with game engines and/or an undergraduate or graduate degree in art or technical art for games
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance if needed (Secret)
  • Portfolio showing your best work
  • Professionalism and the ability to both provide and take critique
  • Possess a strong understanding of the art pipeline for games
  • Able to work on small and large teams as needed
  • Utilize Blender, Substance, Photoshop, and other asset creation packages
  • Understand and have experience with game engines such as Unity3d, Unreal Engine 4/5
  • C#, C++, Python, and/or PyMel
