Summary:

  • We are developing all the technologies needed to enable breakthrough AR glasses and VR headsets, including optics and displays, computer vision, audio, graphics, brain-computer interfaces, haptic interaction, eye/hand/face/body tracking, perception science, and true telepresence.
  • In particular Our Audio team is focused on two goals; creating virtual sounds that are perceptually indistinguishable from reality, and redefining human hearing.
  • We are looking for a project manager to help us conduct research on spatial audio perception and quality as part of a team of project managers that support senior scientists, researchers, post-docs, and PhD student interns.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and drive research projects to advance the science and technology of audio perception
  • Monitor problems, facilitate resolution, and implement changes as necessary to keep projects on track
  • Implement and conduct preliminary listening tests and other perceptual experiments
  • Regularly report on project progress, dependencies and risks to stakeholders
  • Support research scientists and engineers within the team
  • Manage procurement projects for equipment and vendor services
  • Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and take on operational tasks in support of the team's goals
  • Reports to a senior project or technical program manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Work experience in research project management with a track record of successful project completion
  • Proactive with ability to execute on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with team members and individuals throughout the broader organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Track record of communicating research in an academic or industrial setting
  • Experience working in a fast-paced research and/or product development environment
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computational Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Electrical Engineering, Perception, Experimental Psychology, Audio Engineering, Acoustics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with science outreach programs
  • Experience with auditory perception
  • Experience with scientific programming languages such as Matlab, Python, C++, or similar
  • PhD degree or equivalent experience
