CGI is looking for a multi-talented Unreal Developer to create cutting edge Virtual Reality (VR) and advanced training solutions for our clients. This opportunity will allow for pushing the boundaries of technology and focusing on how to deploy Unreal solutions across multiple platforms and in multiple domains. We are looking for someone who thrives on creativity and is willing to collaborate on innovative ideas and create solutions that push the envelope.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Manage immersive projects requests for VR spaces.
- Meet with the project team to determine VR space requirements and visualizations, and key areas of problem solving.
- Build the space in VR to emulate an existing space or new build.
- Review VR space with the team to gather feedback and make changes. Present to the client using VR and make collaborative changes.
- Create documentation including VR photography, 360 images, video fly through recordings.
- Maintain project files using git and CI/CD platform.
- Preform QA and code validation.
- Develop custom applications as needed.
- Collaborate with developers and senior production supervisors to develop specific tools and workflows in C++, Unreal Blueprints and Python.
- Troubleshoot a variety of issues, challenges and technical constraints.
- Debug and help optimize problematic scenes/shots.
- Provide training and maintain documentation of best practices for creating performant assets, animation and rendering in Unreal.
- Provide technical advice and support for artists.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 1 years of Unreal Engine experience
- Basic game math fundamentals (vectors, matrices, physics, projections, camera space, tangent space, object space)
- Basic understanding of software design patterns
- Working knowledge of source control, including best practices (branching/streams)
- Experience with lighting, modeling, and texturing in Unreal Engine
- Experience creating realistic environments using Unreal Engine
- Experience developing games, applications, or VR/AR experiences using Unreal Engine
- Ability to work from home / remotely within a structured team environment
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to utilize time allotted efficiently
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent C++, Python, and UI development skills on Windows.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine, Unreal Blueprints and working in distributed Unreal based systems.
- Familiarity with content production workflows for integration in Unreal projects.
- A degree in computer science, computer graphics or other related field or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with source control systems and software development.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to accurately and succinctly communicate information between technical developers and non-technical artists.
- Experience in games, themed entertainment, visual effects, or a related industry.
Estimated Salary Range (Colorado Only): $105,00-$150,000*
- Disclaimer: In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, effective January 1, 2021, a good faith hourly or base salary range must be posted for all positions where the work may be performed in the state of Colorado. Therefore, this good faith salary range will only apply where this described position will be performed in the state, and should not be considered the compensation range in other locations or for other positions.
