As a world-renowned VR/AR brand with independent innovation and R&D capabilities, Pico has been at the forefront of the consumer electronic market. We have teams in Europe, Japan and South Korea. Now we are looking for experts in image pipeline to join us to build our AR/VR imaging team.

Responsibilities

• Develop early vision models and visual quality metrics for various engineering components, to guide the hardware, software, and system design decisions, in areas such as advanced computational display systems
• Design and conduct perception experiments to validate models, metrics, and assess various aspects of visual quality
• Identify potential visual artifacts of current and new system designs
• Provide leadership and guide feature and component specification definition for future products
• Develop novel features and technologies based on human vision science principles

Qualifications

• Bachelor or above degree in EE, CS or relevant fields with at least 5 years experience in Vision Science, Perceptual Psychology, Optometry, Human Factors, Imaging Science, Color Science, Optics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Deep understanding of human vision system and image quality concepts.
• Experience with psychophysics, user studies, and perception experiment design, conducting, and data analysis.
• Proficiency in one of the scripting, modeling, data analysis, or prototyping languages such as MATLAB/Python.
• Experience of working with cross-functional teams, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to cross-functional collaborators with a variety of technical backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering background in image processing, signal processing, or color technology, and deep understanding of their relations to vision science is a plus.
• Strong data analysis and mathematical modeling experience is a plus.
• Experience with eye-tracking technology or its applications is a plus.
• Expertise in one or more areas of visual comfort, visual optics, binocular vision is a plus.
• Familiarity with optometrics is a plus
• Experience in the consumer electronics industry is a plus
