Hi, we are Surplex. We are a VC-backed startup focusing on novel sensor technologies and interaction forms based on them(specifically in VR/3D). We seek to combine high-dimensional sensor data and state-of-the-art DL algorithms to deliver more intuitive interaction forms for users. Our core team is from MIT CSAIL, Columbia CS, UPenn, Tsinghua University, etc. We are proudly backed by MiraclePlus(Previously YC China) and invested by Microsoft previous EVP Dr.Lu. Our first product is a pair of shoes that can capture users' full body movement in VR. It hasbeen featured by VRScout, AWE, InputMag, MoguraVR, SinaVR, VRTuoluo and many other media.

We're hiring an Machine Learning Engineer. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for the core model's data cleaning, model tuning, model deployment, and engineering tasks after deployment(such as transfer learning with new data).

Full-time is preferred, part-time/internship is also considered.

We will provide the same/similar salary as the major tech companies, and as an early employee, you will also receive option rewards.

Requirements are as below

1. Solid knowledge of ML/DL concepts such as Transformer, LSTM, CNN.

2. Experience with Deploying ML Model with tools such as TorchScript, Knowledgeable with Domain Adaption, Transfer Learning and related task.

3. Knowledgeable with Linux, C/C++, Python, Pytorch, and related tech stacks.

4. Background in Multimodal learning, 3D human pose estimation is preferred.

5. 1-3 years ML engineering experience is preferred.

6. Passionate about VR/Immersive Experience is preferred.
