At Meta Connectivity (MCx), we focus on partnering with a variety of Connectivity Service Providers (CSP) in order to accelerate the development and deployment of metaverse-ready networks in an economically and technically sustainable manner. Being able to architect, design and build test and validation networks that allow us to benchmark and optimize the performance of both Meta’s Family of Apps (FoA) and Metaverse apps in a controlled environment is a critical task in this endeavor. We are looking for a leader with deep technical expertise in network performance evaluation and optimization.As a NW Performance Lead, you will work with a team of test, validation & automation experts to design, build and operationalize flexible, modular and expandable test environments that enable performance evaluation and optimization in a controlled and repeatable manner. Working closely with other MCx and cross-functional engineering teams, you will propose mechanisms to measure, optimize, and improve the quality of end-to-end user experience for Meta’s FoAs and devices. Working closely with your team, you will help ensure that these test beds are efficient, automated and repeatable.

Network Performance Validation Lead Responsibilities:

• Closely collaborate on an ongoing and continuous basis with Meta’s Infrastructure and Product teams to understand network requirements and KPIs for achieving optimal Quality of Experience (QoE)
• Leveraging the relationships built by Meta’s partner-facing teams, identify and understand the network capabilities, limitations, and improvement opportunities of Meta’s critical CSP partners
• Develop innovative and efficient technical solutions (e.g., test setups, automation and bug tracking/resolution tools etc.) to measure and optimize E2E QoE in a controlled and repeatable environment
• Help drive the technical definition, architecture, implementation, and deployment of innovative and disruptive networking solutions in the market, in order to accelerate the deployment of Metaverse-Ready Networks (MRN)
• Identify and fill technical gaps, enhance T&V capability, and continually improve operating efficiency by leading and growing a strong team of engineers and closely collaborating with other engineering and program managements functions

Minimum Qualifications:

• MS or PhD with minimum 8 years experience in data network architecture and design
• Familiarity with XR (AR, MR, VR) use cases, and their implications on the requirements from CSP networks (e.g. speed, bandwidth, latency/RTT, compute needs etc.)
• Experience in Network test, validation, deployment and/or solution engineering space. Experience in designing, building, and operating test beds and measurement equipment. Experience using automated text execution, tracking, analysis and reporting tools, including CI/CD
• Solid understanding of ecosystem technology drivers, standards bodies (e.g. IETF, IEEE, 3GPP), and industry consortiums (OCP, TIP, O-RAN Alliance etc.) relevant to the telecom industry
• Understanding of current and upcoming (in-development) network architectures, protocols, test, and automation tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Network deployment and operational experience preferred
• Leadership, recruiting, team building and organization/management experience preferred
