Are you a 3D Art Generalist with a proven track record of video game content creation in a professional capacity with one or more shipped titles under your belt? Are you a strong generalist, willing to take on a variety of tasks, both independently and in collaboration with other artists and game developers?

Our client is an entertainment and technology company that creates story-based full-roam virtual reality experiences which allow up to six people to simultaneously explore a virtual 3D environment, seeing fully rendered avatars of one another. They are seeking a 3D Art Generalist to work on a new story-driven VR experience in the world of science and education. Their role will be to model and texture game assets (objects and/or characters), and to integrate them into the Unity game engine. The 3D Art Generalist will work closely with the project leads and the Art Director. Interested? Let’s connect!


You Will:

  • Collaborate with the creative director to come up with creative solutions, identify constraints, and to provide feasibility recommendations.
  • Suggest and create game assets that engage and captivate users.
  • Provide feedback to the creative director by working in a fast and iterative manner on artistic concepts.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to provide feedback on existing assets and suggestions for new ones.


You Have:

  • A degree in Digital Art, Game Art & Design, or equivalent experience.
  • 3D modeling and texturing skills using Maya, Substance Painter, etc.
  • 3+ years of professional game development experience on Unity.
  • Good interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
  • Nice to Have:
  • VR development experience
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g. C#, Python, MELscript etc)
  • Experience with animation
  • Experience with lighting
  • Experience or interest in building educational content


Logistics:

  • Projected Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: until January, 2023 (potential to extend)
  • Hours/Week: 40 hours per week
  • Onsite/offsite: 100% remote; main team works PST hours
  • Laptop/Program Requirements: TBD
  • Team Structure: work closely with the project leads and the Art Director
