Expected compensation: $86.00 - $97.00 per hour

HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a Prototyper (AR) to to research, design, and create prototypes in augmented and virtual reality.

In this role, you'll be responsible for building and enhancing prototyping platforms in partnership with other prototypers and technical teams.

As a Prototyper (AR/VR), You’ll
  • Research, design, and create interactive prototypes.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to build and enhance prototyping platforms.
  • Set up and maintain prototypes and present them to various audiences.
  • Communicate analysis to cross-functional partners.
  • Give and solicit real-time feedback from others in order to improve the quality of the product.
  • Partner effectively with PMs, engineers, user researchers, content strategists, and QA, overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch—as well as providing post-launch design support.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions, working with the Design, Product and Executive teams.
  • Create product-ready assets for internal rapid testing and external release.
  • Advocate for product design throughout the company.

Requirements
  • Experience in Unity development
  • Experience with real-time 3D development
  • Expert ability to visualize in 3D and understand aesthetic aspects of design
  • Portfolio/work samples featuring relevant design work
  • Expert programming ability in one or more languages (e.g. C#, C/C++, Python, Java,)
  • Experience with AR/VR and game development
  • Previous experience using the computer to create layouts and generate new images
  • Creativity, verbal/written communication skills, and problem solving ability
  • Expert problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field is a plus
  • History of working with designers and production software engineers is a plus
  • Character art animation experience is a plus
Commitment: This is a full-time, 12-month contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be available to candidates local to the Burlingame, CA; San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY and Houston, TX areas.
