Position: Lead WebXR Developer / Sr. Frontend Software Engineer

Groove Jones, a world-renowned and award-winning studio specializing in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Interactive Entertainment technologies, is currently seeking a Lead WebXR Developer. This role will help manage the front-end development team with a focus on building a robust web 3D development pipeline. We are seeking someone with deep knowledge of react-three-fiber, three.js, webGL, Native AR libraries, AR tools (Zappar, 8thwall, etc) and is passionate about creating stunning XR experiences. The ideal candidate is proactive, has a thirst for knowledge, and a supportive work ethic. You will be challenged to work with the latest cutting-edge technologies and top clients around the world.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Determining the proper technology and designing the best way to execute web-based AR/VR projects to meet client needs
• Understanding latest libraries such as React.js, three.js, react-three-fiber and webGL to build visually stunning 3D web experiences
• May also develop web-based AR experiences using 1 or more AR libraries like Zappar, 8th Wall, DeepAR, Lightship, or other entrants
• Optimizing 3D web experiences for maximum speed and scalability
• Implement and help design optimal user flow for AR use from a webpage
• Ensuring the AR design is optimized for multiple browsers and mobile devices
• Building reusable code for future use.
• The ability to design web landing pages to launch AR
• Hire and mentor new front end developers on the team

Qualifications:

• Experience building and deploying responsive, visual, interactive web-based user interfaces and/or webAR campaign. (include examples, if possible)
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development focusing on 2D and 3D renderings using tech such as Three.js, WebGL, OpenGL, React-Three-Fiber etc
• Experience working with 3D models, textures, materials, animation
• Experience working with a technical/developer team- Past experience working in AR/VR space
• 5-7 years experience in JavaScript

Bonus:

• Experience with Blender or other 3D rendering tools
• Experience with Unity or Unreal 3D
• Understanding of PBR materials and building custom shaders
• Understanding of GLTF and GLB file formats and extensions
