Responsibilities
o Support optical technology research initiatives and implement leading-edge display technologies as hardware for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) research
o Work as a team to fulfill our vision through learning and following the latest technologies in metaverse, developing novel prototype platforms and implementing innovative ideas into the platform; work to reduce or remove bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the platform
o Implement, program, and debug the drivers for latest display systems; create new features, from a technical specification or a reference implementation; conduct demo system maintenance and bug fixing
o Prototype, implement and evaluate optical and display systems
o Communicate complex ideas and testing results effectively, both orally and in writing, and provide recommendations and support to internal engineering teams through accurate and effective written documentation
o Provide support to research optics and photonics platform as part of the team
Qualifications
o BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields with solid background in electronics and system engineering
o Passion to learn and explore latest technologies in displays and metaverse
o 5+ years electronics development with hands-on experiences in design/debug electrical circuits, operating digital oscilloscope, function generators, power suppliers, and other equipment
o Experience in mobile displays with MIPI interface and driver circuits
o Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++, Python, or Matlab
o Proficient in at least one of the CAD design software such as ProE, SolidWorks, Rhino
o Hands-on experience with optical system setup, alignment, and optical characterization is a plus
o Deep understanding of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques, and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems
o Strong sense of product ownership and business impact
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
