[CONTRACT ROLE] Maloka is seeking an experienced content producer to lead in-game content creation within our partner network of meditation teachers and thought leaders.

Maloka is building the Mindful Metaverse, where practice meets play. Available on the Meta Quest in VR and via the iOS and Google Play app stores for mobile, the Maloka game takes users on an enchanting and immersive journey into mindfulness.

About The Role

• Act as the lead content manager and producer for Maloka’s growing library of in-game mindfulness experiences, interfacing with industry-leading meditation teachers and thought leaders as well as cross-functional stakeholders.
• Give our partners a smooth production process that makes them want to create with us again and again, applying detailed project management skills and a supportive communication style from kickoff call all the way to post-production details and launch.
• Develop a clear understanding of what great content in VR looks like, and become the internal subject matter expert on how we build a world-class content library.

About our Content Management & Production Process

Pre-Production:

• Host kickoff calls / creative workshops with content partners, clearly explaining our production process, gathering inputs, and synthesizing into next steps.
• Review and approve creative concept documents and scripts, supporting partners in any questions they may have along the way and gaining signoff from business side / founders on content direction where needed.
• Create and circulate detailed call sheets that serve as run of show for recording sessions.

Production:

• Join recording sessions remotely, serving as director and head cheerleader for partners, and providing feedback and support along the way.

Post Production:

• Review files from recording session, and provide a detailed handoff with relevant notes and supporting docs to sound designer(s.)
• Manage and prioritize sound designer(s) workload and progress.

Development / QA:

• Continue to serve as cross-functional glue by ensuring that post-production files are organized and to quality standards, handing off to the development team when ready.
• Work with partners to craft compelling in-game descriptions and accompanying visuals for the development team to bring to life.
• Participate in QA testing to ensure that content experiences are coming to life as intended.

Content Management:

• Serve as the strategic owner of Maloka’s content production playbook, combining your deep context into our growing library and specific KPIs in order to assess where the content strategy is working and where it may require optimizations.
• Report strategic recommendations to the broader business team, including feedback on the types of partners we should be creating with, ways to optimize the production process, and how we can continue raising our bar for quality.
• Maintain an organized project tracker that shows how various partners are progressing through the production process at any given point in time.

Required Qualifications

• Available to commit ~20 hours per week
• Prior project management/ content production experience
• Highly organized with great communication skills (this role loves “type A” energy)
• A passion for interfacing with partners and relationship building

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with VR and strong intuition on what content will work with VR.
• Basic understanding of meditation, with an ability to “speak the language” with practitioners from within the space.
