From developing creative new Lens features for Snapchat, to supporting the continuous growth and evolution of Lens Studio (our platform for an ever-increasing community of AR creators), to designing the cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning technology that makes face transformation Lenses possible — our Augmented Reality team is working hard on their mission to bring AR to more people, places, and moments, every day.

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Augmented Reality team!

What You’ll Do
  • Drive Quality Engineering efforts for internal and external product releases
  • Design test strategy for existing and new features
  • Build automation Strategy in adherence to a well balanced test pyramid and drive improvements to app performance, usability and hardware/software compatibility
  • Drive incident prioritization and work cross-functionally with engineering/design
  • Write and maintain automated test procedures on various frontend and backend platforms
  • Work hand in hand with Design, PM team and engineering teams to ensure quality feature delivery
  • Participate in release processes for the entire company
  • Work closely with teams to triage incidents and drive resolution when necessary
  • Monitor and build metrics to predict quality trends
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong automation skills for apps on iOS and Android devices or desktop applications on MacOS and Windows
  • Understanding of software quality control paradigms and testing pyramids
  • Strong knowledge in Continuous Integration and Continuous delivery
  • Understanding of testing strategy paradigm: unit testing, integration testing, E2E testing, and how to apply each of them into different engineering phases to pursue quality control
  • Proficient in test plan, test case creation and execution
  • Software debugging skills on iOS and Android devices – or – Mac and Windows machines; able to parse logs to diagnose test cases flakiness as well as product defects, able to provide solid inputs of issue root causes or possible root causes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years of quality control experience for mobile or web applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry development experience with: Kotlin, Java, Python, C, C++ , Objective-C, and/or Swift
  • Experience with software automation tools, such as xcuitest for iOS automation, espresso for Android, and Squish for Qt/desktop
