Key School seeks a full-time Middle and Upper School Technology Integrator. This combination teaching and support role will further the Computer Science program at the School as well as facilitate the integration of technology throughout the curriculum in both school divisions.


The teaching responsibilities will focus on Computer Science courses in the Middle and Upper Schools (grades 5-12). This individual is also responsible for promoting tools, mindsets, and best practices of academic technology to support teaching and learning with an eye toward growth and progress. Additional responsibilities for this role include supporting the Middle School and Upper School Robotics programs and offering activities related to Coding, Design Thinking and Computer Science. 


This role reports to the Middle and Upper School Division Heads and works in collaboration with the Director of Academic Technology.

Responsibilities (list is illustrative rather than complete)

  • Provide instruction for a part-time course-load of computer science classes in the US
  • In collaboration with teachers, plan and teach technology integrated lessons that support learning across the curriculum in grades 5-8
  • Attend regular divisional, grade level, and subject area department meetings to provide support and guidance around technology integration
  • Collaborate with faculty to plan the integration of STEAM throughout the Middle School with an eye toward integration of the Middle School Maker Space
  • Support the Middle and Upper School robotics teams
  • Offer Middle and Upper School activities on Computer Science related topics such as Coding, 3-D printing, Augmented Reality
  • Provide support and training to faculty in the use of software and technology related to teaching and learning 
  • Model effective and ethical use of technology - teach or co-teach lessons on digital literacy in the Middle School
  • Manage and implement onboarding of new Middle/Upper School faculty in the area of technology
  • Offer parent educations sessions on technology topics for Middle and Upper School families
  • Provide technology training/orientation to new Middle/Upper School faculty
  • Provide technology orientation to Middle and Upper School students as needed at the start of the school year 
  • Assist in the development, implementation, evaluation and refinement of programs, services and initiatives related to technology integration

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience teaching or working in the following areas: Computer Programming preferably in Python and Java, Application Development, Data Science, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, Game Design, Robotics, Cyber Science and/or a willingness to learn.
  • Experience as a classroom teacher (Middle/Upper School experience strongly preferred)
  • Expertise with educational technology and maker education
  • Proven collaborator with a history of working closely with a variety of colleagues 
  • Expertise with Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), Google Classroom, Chrome OS and extensions, Chrome Device management and Apple technology (OSX and iOS)
  • Expertise with Coding, 3-D printing, and Robotics
