UX Researcher

6 month contract

100% remote in the following locations: Denver, New York, Houston, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

Summary:

The VR Core UX team is looking for an experienced design researcher for a 6-month contracting role, with the potential to extend to a longer contract. The VR Core UX team is responsible for building VR system interfaces that enable various use cases in VR, for example, gaming, media,

social, and productivity. Research is paramount to the success of this organization and overall experience of VR.

You will independently own and drive the execution of a research program that covers a variety of topics, working closely with other researchers and multiple product teams. You will primarily work on iterative design research to mold early product and design concepts as well as evaluative research to test and improve user experiences using 2D or 3D prototypes or actual builds in the VR headset.

To succeed in this critical role, you will need to demonstrate excellence in:

  • Project management skills to stay on top of research program timeline and communication for various product topics and research needs
  • Verbal and written communication skills key to managing stakeholder relationships and delivering high-quality research reports
  • Critical thinking to design research studies and protocols that get to root problems at different stages of development
  • Extensive experience with iterative and evaluative research
  • Keen eyes for UX and product details
  • Interest and fluency in working with emergent technologies and prototypes
  • Can do attitude and problem solving skills

This role will operate in the west coast time zone. Its a fully remote role and we have established a mechanism to support remote research. If preferred, this role could also be full-time based in the Bellevue office in Washington or Burlingame office in the bay area.
