Expected compensation: $62.00 - $71.00 per hour

HireArt is helping the world’s largest social network hire a UX Researcher (AR/VR) to partner with cross-functional teams to help optimize wearer experience and improve the contextual experience for future AR/VR technologies.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a rigorous, mixed-methods approach to UX research to uncover data and insights.

As a UX Researcher (AR/VR), You'll
  • Design and conduct research to guide the development of novel multi-sensory AR/VR user experiences leveraging a range of qualitative and quantitative UX research approaches and tools e.g. literature reviews, user interviews, usability testing, lab-based experimentation, and surveys.
  • Translate the research insights into actionable, measurable UX recommendations and drive implementation with cross functional partners.
  • Work closely with partners and stakeholders to influence development and integration of future AR/VR experiences and solutions.
  • Collaborate with other UX researchers to help design research plans, specific studies, and communicate findings with stakeholders.
  • Independently complete research e.g. data collection, data analysis, and reporting to communicate the research results and knowledge consolidation.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Neuropsychology, Perceptual Psychology, or a UX related field (PhD is preferred)
  • 4+ years experience driving experimental designs and perceptual data collection studies from end-to-end
  • 4+ years of working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • 4+ years experience conducting applied research on consumer products involving both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Strong oral/written communication skills with experience in tailoring messages to various stakeholders
  • Some travel is required
  • 2+ years experience conducting UX research with AR/VR devices e.g. HMD's, smart glasses, headphones, smart speakers, etc. is preferred
  • Experience using psychophysical/psychoacoustic methods is preferred
Commitment: This is a full-time, 12-month contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be available to candidates local to the Redmond, WA area.
