Augmented Reality Designer

100% Remote

6+ Month Contract

Role:

  • Looking for a talented, AR UI designer who enjoys collaborating with others to create breakthrough immersive experiences.
  • Can jump between Figma and Unity to test out builds of your latest concepts.
  • Can give a master-class on the impacts of occlusion and the challenges of limited field-of-view. Understands the complexity of poly-counts.
  • Recognizes the constraints, but also the transformational power of modern AR capable head-mounted-displays (HoloLens, Magic Leap, RealWear, etc).

Responsibilities:

  • Translate concepts into mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
  • Create effective and modern interfaces and interactions for AR capable head-mounted-displays (HoloLens, Magic Leap, RealWear).
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, design leads, UX/UI designers, and engineers to prioritize product functionality and deliver valuable, high-quality products.
  • Using user-centered design, help to refine features and contribute to the overall look, feel and interactions of the product(s).
  • Build rapid prototypes for user testing and help synthesize results for the product team

Skills and preferred qualifications

  • 3+ years experience designing interfaces for augmented reality (AR), which includes UX and UI design, wireframing and prototyping.
  • Experience in digital design with tools such as Figma (preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, InVision or Sketch.
  • Previous experience designing and developing interfaces within Unity.
  • Comfort with light level coding with C# and Unity.
  • Familiarity with 3D tools (Maya, etc)
  • Experience developing enterprise software (preferred, but not a requirement)
  • Must have a portfolio of examples where you contributed towards the UI and / or UX of a shipped product on an AR capable head-mounted-display (HMD).
  • MRTK experience a big plus!
  • BA, BS or BFA
