We are a team of collaborators who value fresh thinking and believe in mutual respect, constructive candor, diversity, and inclusion.

MKS Instruments Power Solutions products provide plasma generation and control solutions for semiconductor manufacturing processes. We are a key supplier to the world’s largest electronics producers and are currently experiencing tremendous growth. As the semiconductor manufacturing industry is continuing to push the envelope in terms of device density, wafer uniformity, and device speed, high-speed plasma control becomes a significant technical challenge. These challenges require innovative thinking and inquisitive engineering minds. If this is appealing to you, we want to meet you.

This Electronic Engineer will work on high-power RF and DC generators used in semiconductor fabrication. You will ensure product designs are of the highest quality to meet customer requirements.

Duties Include:

  • Sustain and improve high-power RF generators rated 400KHz to 60MHz, and DC generators up to 100kW.
  • Analysis to determine the root cause of failure on production yield fall-out and customer returns. Provide corrective action, recommendations, and document analysis results.
  • Plan and conduct RF testing, DC testing, HASS/HALT, circuit analysis, troubleshooting, modeling, failure duplication, and device analysis.
  • Technical support to application engineers and help to solve difficult on-site engineering problems; act as Customer/Sales interface to China customers within the Engineering organization.
  • Work on second source component qualification. Interface with suppliers, customers, manufacturing, and materials organizations.
  • Provide training to other teams including Application, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering.
  • Work with the Shenzhen factory; the Sustaining Engineering Team reports to US Engineering.

  • Support design documentation & configuration control of released products. (Special Product Requests, Engineering Change Orders)

What you bring:

  • B.S. in Electronic Engineering or other technical-related field
  • Strong curiosity and interest in solving problems-likes to find the root cause of failure, and interest in RF/DC technology
  • 1+ years of experience (school and co-ops count) in at least 1 of these: building circuit prototypes, developing test methods/fixtures, troubleshooting electronics circuits with lab equipment
  • Interest in understanding the root cause of failure and RF/DC technology
